8 months

Sophia 8 months old
Every time I sit down with Sophia for a photo shoot I take at least a hundred photos. Mostly, I'm lucky to get one true "money shot". Something that's in focus {babies move around a lot!}, where she has her eyes open, and she isn't making some crazy face. This time around, she posed like a pro, and I had literally dozens of money shots. So many that I couldn't decide which one to use for her 8 month photo. In the end, I decided on the handful you see here.
When she was six months old she was hospitalized for RSV, and one thing we learned from her dreary stay there was that she looks absolutely precious in the color peach...which happened to be the color of her hospital gown. I bought her the spring dress she's wearing in these photos knowing that she would look adorable in it. It's been too cold to wear it outdoors yet, but I loved trying it on her for these photos. Have I mentioned how much fun it is having a girl yet?!

Her eighth month has brought many changes along with it. The biggest one is that she's now officially crawling! I started writing this post a week ago, but had to edit out the part where I mentioned she hasn't gotten very far with her new skill yet, because as of this morning, she's off to the races! Life as I knew it with a stationary baby is OVER.

She's also begun talking, and her favorite thing in the world right now {besides her Mommy and Daddy, of course} is our cat, Wednesday, who has taken on the new moniker - "Kitty Cat". Shortly after her first words, da-da came kitty cat...which sounds more like eee-dat when she says it. But it's clear what she's referring to because she squeals with delight and points in Wednesday's direction every time she does.

As usual, I'm terribly late getting this post up. Even more so this month, because she'll be 9 months old this Friday {bad mommy!}. But life has been full - with everyone home for Spring Break this past week, and Easter festivities at our house yesterday. I loved having the opportunity to cook and entertain again because it seems like ages since I did! We stayed home for the school break, but used the time to do some spring cleaning around our cluttered home. Might sound boring for my older kids, but they are psyched to have a fresh, clean room with a lot more space to play in! Don't you love purging? I sure do!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter or Passover! I hope to be back soon with some a 9 month photo and some amazing recipes I recently tried and can't wait to share...

Katie, she is seriously the most gorgeous baby girl! I don't know how you were able to choose even just a handful of pictures. I think she probably looks beautiful in whatever color she's wearing. It's such a treat to see how much fun you're having with your little girl!

Oh dear! She is an angel! Those pictures are absolutely amazing. First time visit here and I have to say your photography is excellent. What lens and camera do you use? That light and crispness is to die for. It almost feels like Sophia is right next to me. Thanks for leaving a trail at my place.

What a mesmorising gaze she has. Those big blue eyes, feels like I can loose myself in them.
